Kari Spink · Artist & Illustrator

Hello, I'm Kari.

I'm a self-taught artist and illustrator with a love for drawing, painting, and visual storytelling.

My work moves between traditional and digital mediums, from detailed ink architecture and graphite studies to watercolor, gouache, sketches, and illustrated concepts.

I find a great deal of inspiration in the natural world. Hiking, exploring new places, and taking in the little details of a landscape often find their way into my work. I'm drawn to the feeling of a place just as much as its appearance—the atmosphere of a quiet woodland, the mystery of an old building, or the beauty of a landscape that feels as though it holds a story of its own.

Storytelling is another great love of mine. I'm fascinated by richly imagined environments, expressive characters, and the small details that bring a scene to life. Whether it's a subtle expression on someone's face, the mood created by a particular palette of colors, or the atmosphere of an entire setting, I love the way art can make us feel something.

Much like a good book or a beautiful piece of music, I believe an illustration can transport us somewhere, stir an emotion, or leave us wondering what lies beyond the page. It's that feeling I hope to capture in my work—and ultimately, to share a little of that world with others.
